Executive Committee
The Executive Committee is the top desicion making body of the Association. It reports only to the general assembly during the annual general meetings (AGM). The ExCom is made up of the President, Vice-President, Past President, Secretary/Treasurer, Chief Editor of AfJARE Journal and four Regional representatives from Eastern & Central, West, North and Southern Africa. The Past President, Secretary/Treasurer and AfJARE Editor are non-elective posts.

The committee holds office for a period of three years when new office bearers are elected at the general meeting of the members of the Association.

The 1st inaugural Executive Committee was elected during the launch of the Association in December 2004, in Nairobi - Kenya (see ExCom members below). The second AGM was held at the 2nd International conference in August 2007 in Accra - Ghana where new members of the Executive Committee was elected to be in office until the next AGM.

The third AGM was held during the 3rd International conference in September 2010 in Cape Town - South Africa where new office bearers were also elected to be in office until September 2013, during the association's 4th International conference to be held in Tunis - Tunisia.
