Prof. Gregory Adebiyi Daramola (Chief Editor, AfJARE) has recorded significant academic accomplishments in the field of Agricultural Economics, including relevant experience as a member of editorial boards for several journals. He possesses knowledge of technical aspects of scientific journal publication. He obtained his bachelor’s (BSc) degree in Agricultural Economics from the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Ife (Now Obafemi Awolowo University), Nigeria in 1980.
He completed his postgraduate (MSc & PhD) studies at the University of Ibadan, Nigeria in 1982 and 1987, respectively. He started his academic career in September, 1986 at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria where he was appointed as an Assistant Lecturer. He proceeded on post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Advanced Training in Agricultural Economics, University of New England, Armidale, Australia in February, 1990.
During his postdoctoral fellowship he worked under the supervision of Late Prof John Dillon as a Visiting Academic. After completion of the fellowship in January 1991, he returned to his academic position at the Federal University of Technology, Akure. He was promoted to Senior Lecturer position on October 1, 1992. By July 2000, he assumed Headship, Department of Agricultural Economics and Extension, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria. He was appointed a Professor of Agricultural Economics with effect from October, 1999. During his academic career, his academic output has covered the entire range of Agricultural Economics discipline with special emphasis on quantitative modeling, production economics and public policy.
He has had extensive editorial experience, having served as a peer reviewer for about 10 local and international journals (such as Elsevier Agricultural Economics, Discovery and Innovation, Quarterly Journal of International Agriculture, etc) and on the editorial board of at least 3 of them. Prof. Daramola remains on board as the Chief Editor of the African Journal of Agricultural and Resource Economics (AfJARE). |
